Business Development – What are other people saying about you?

What you need to know for your business development:

With so much traffic and information available on the internet, have you ever stopped to ask, “What are other people saying about you or your business?”

Now and again it’s worth checking, and here are some tools you can use.

Social Media

There are a lot of tools out there but two in particular worth checking out are www.samepoint.com and www.socialmention.com. Both tools search social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. They look for mentions of your name or business across the entire network.

Google Alerts

This is a great free tool that allows you to set up alerts for particular keywords, your name, your business name or anything in particular you want to be alerted to. You can set it to automatically send you a notification via email as often as you want when the particular keyword you’re monitoring is mentioned on the internet. This is also a great tool to use to keep track of news about your industry of interest, your competitors, or key customers. Go to www.google.com/alerts and you will have it set up in minutes.

Your Klout

Curious about your online impact? Klout gives you the insights to measure your social media influence across platforms. Discover how far your network spreads today!

This tool will allow you to see how much influence you have on the internet. Go to www.klout.com and you will be able to see how far your network spreads. Your reach is determined by a lot of different factors for each platform i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Wikipedia, with the main factors being how many people you reach, how much have they interacted with you online, and how often you have been mentioned.

These are just a few tools you can use to keep an eye on what is being said on the internet about you or your business. Have you come across any others that have been a great help to you?
