Key Business Roles: Technician, Manager, Entrepreneur for Team Success

For any business growth, different types of support staff are needed. Let’s take a look at each of these and what makes them so important.

There are essentially three key roles that need to be filled to set your business up for success:

  • The Technician
  • The Manager and
  • The Entrepreneur

Different people with the right talents need to play all of these roles simultaneously. It’s all about balance.

The Technician

This person embodies the “present” and actively handles the physical aspects of the business-building process. Moreover, they are the “doer.” In fact, this is usually the most visible person in the entire operation. Additionally, they typically focus on completing the daily activities and quickly getting them out of the way.

The Manager

This person represents the “past” and, therefore, works to fix problems by learning from past mistakes. Furthermore, they are the practical side of the business and are responsible for putting together the business while also overseeing the planning.

The Entrepreneur

Driving the future of the business with creativity and vision—where ideas meet innovation.

This person represents the “future” and the vision for the business. They are responsible for the creative side of the business and are always considering ways to enhance products/services, business image, branding, and more.

All three of these characteristics are essential to the success of any business. And to build a solid foundation from the start, you need to work harder to find the right people to put in these roles.

You need to be one of these key people, but ensure you find the role that fits your skills and talents, not necessarily what you THINK you should be doing.

This may be a hard process for you to follow, as you will need to relinquish some control over the business, instill trust, and empower people to allow them to do their jobs. Typically better than you can!
